Just thought I'd share. My old Canadian issue combat boots finally gave up the ghost after many many years of service. They weren't the warmest, but with good heavy socks they were great when the temperatures hadn't gotten too low and I have seriously warm boots for when it gets seriously frosty. I purchased a pair of Norwegian M77 combat boots off Kijiji. They retail at $180. bucks and I got 'em for $50. Much to my disgust, they aren't lined like our Canadian ones, and their sz.11 was closer to 11-1/2 or 12 and my feet were swimming in them even with heavy socks. So! What to do, what to do? I tried to sell them on a couple of sites and no takers. Finally, don't I get the bright idea to see if I can find thermal boot liners. On ebay, I find a pair of sz.11 thermal boot liners. Well!! The liners arrived today, I wrestled 'em into the boots, (they're most warm and toasty) and they're now so snug that I only need a good light pr. of cotton socks for most of my bush work. Unlike our boots, they have a speed lace system and I used the Canadian issue round laces to replace the flat braided laces they come with. The tops of the liners protrude about 7-8 " above the top of the boot and I had debated about trimming them until I asked myself, "why"? They'll provide added thermal value up my leg to my calf. So, to all my fellow hunters who'll be slogging around in wet and/or snowy weather in a little bit, I hope your feet are as warm as mine will be, and I wish you all success.
