New BR Score Record

I know you are shooting for score but a good score requires a rifle that will group ... I would guess a .30 caliber would need to be grouping less than 1/4 inch to be able to wipe out the dot ... ?

From what I have read, if you are at a big score shoot in the USA, the gun better be capable of a sub .200 agg to do well. A tuned 6ppc will beat an out of tune .30 and a 50 - 5X target shot with a 6ppc is some good shooting. Just going to a .30 doesn't guarantee anything. They kick and are expensive to feed. Personally I think the .30 has to shoot as good as a 6ppc. I think a .30 might stay in tune better and is easier on barrels than a 6ppc. The .30 has a scoring advantage in that if a .30 bullet and a 6mm land in exactly the same place, the .30 cuts a bigger hole and touches the 10 ring or the X dot, where the 6mm would score a 9. Looking through the 45X scope shooting a target, it was like launching 2" trailer balls.
