Silly question, I've reloaded for quite a while but this is the first time I've bought new brass. Aside from trimming and chamfering do I have to resize the brass....Bob

I try to clean up the necks if there are dings, but I've loaded alot of Winchester .223 direct from the bag with zero issues.

Trust your progressive press. If it doesn't need to be resized it doesn't get resized. That said, I always measure the weight of the casing plus primer, and then the weight of the casing plus primer plus powder before seating the bullet. Guess I'm just old fashioned.

I always Full Length re-size all new brass I buy and deburr the flash holes.................I do not feel like taking the chance on having a round not chamber when my life is at stake or that once in a lifetime Moose strolls by..............

SKBY.

Never had a factory new case fail to chamber in any rifle, so I don't bother FL sizing. Just run them through a neck sizer, trim to common length and chamfer. I always run my loaded hunting ammo through my rifle before I hunt anyway, so I have not had any issues. Regards, Eagleye

I do something similar, after neck sizing the new brass, I run the empty cases through my rifle to check for any that don't chamber.
