I was looking for a longer range varmint rifle and I came across a used .223 Browning A-bolt II varmint stalker. I am looking for opinions and useful info. It has the duratouch stalk, and varmint bull barrel. Heavy at 8lbs, but this is going to be more for longer shots and bench shooting. I have a weatherby vanguard .223 for lighter shoots. I did shoulder an a-bolt in a local shop, and loved the bolt action and stock. Is there any info I should know before I take this baby out? It is a used rifle with about 40 rounds through it, and then been stored for the last two years.

Thanks

Is it a regular 223 or a wssm like mine below? At 3800 fps turns varmints inside out. Very capable of long range shooting. Oh by the way mine is for sale too.

Ive had experience with two of the A-bolts in 300wm and dont have a bad thing to say, in fact my younger brother loads his about as hot as weatherby rounds and it delivers really nice groupings, gells meat a bit much though... Im not the biggest fan of the plastic stocks but they are nice for taking scratches and wear&tear.
