Just picked this up yesterday to replace our old .308 bolt action carbine that no longer ejects shells when you cycle the bolt... We wanted to try a semi-auto rifle in synthetic and came to this, setup for .30-06 caliber. :D

Leupold VX-II 3-9x40mm scope.

Lots more pictures for you to peruse over here.

Thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

I would but I think my father would like to retire it as a "backup". It still shoots fine, I got two deer with it last weekend, just annoying as hell to have to shake the thing sideways before you can load another round...

It's major ugly in a futuristic kind of way, but then I'm a fudd, so my opinion has a definite lean to it.

I'm a huge sucker for synthetic black based firearms, so I just loved the look. We were originally going for a mahogany oil finish, but they broke it while mounting the scope plate... Gave us this for the same price and I love it :)

My opinion matters very little here anyways. Enjoy your new rifle and post a range report. :)

I'm not fond of the aesthetics myself, preferring somewhat more traditional designs, but that should be a fine tool for whatever job you need it for, happy new gun day to you!

Probably a decent rifle, but it reminds me of a Crosman pellet gun i had when i was a kid. Looks better than the remmy 710, at least.
