There is a write up on these in the newest issue of Rifle magazine. Yuk. The Browning has a plastic magazine and Goddy stock. The Winchester has a new trigger. The 70 looks the same other than barrel markings. The X-bolt looks like an abortion. Check it out.

X bolt is going to be an upgrade to the Abolt, that is for sure. Think of it as Browning meets Tikka, half way

the Model 70 looks good as always, I like the all weather model with the B&C fiberglass stock and stainless fluted barrel

I've been looking at both of these new rifles. I'm still trying to decide on a new calibre for a longer range shooter. I'm not looking to snipe moose at 800 yards or anything like that. Just looking for something a tad bigger than my 30-06. I was hoping to check out the 338wm in the Browning Xbolt in the SS model but Im not really sold on the stock. Once I saw the new model 70 SS with the fluted barrel and Bell and Carlson stock...oh my....so nice. Wish they just offered it in 338wm.

It seems to me that the 325wsm is starting to replace the 338wm in some of the new models including the model 70 SS.

Id be ready to throw down some money on a new model 70 SS if they only had the 338wm. I might still look at one in 325wsm after I do a bit more reading and researching on the cal.

As for the browning , I've always liked their fit and finish but the stock on the xbolt is a bit too crazy for me. Now if someone like B&C offered a replacement stock for the xbolt, i'd take a more serious look at it.
