New Brunswick moose season...

That's right, it's that time again. For three days, no ###, no points to count, if it's called a moose, you can shoot it!:D

I got mine in the first 50 minutes, we left the camp at 6;55am and I was climbing down the stand after I shot it at 8;45am. A nice little 600lbs bull, I was hunting with my Rem700, .270cal, he came right in on the 1st call.
I'll post some pics when I have them.

That will be good eating.
Congrats.

Yep, almost forgot about deer. I grew up in NB and shot my first moose, deer, grouse, hare, etc... over there. Moved to BC in '99.

This moose was taken last week here in NB by a fellow I work with.

Nice, and no tricks either, got the licence plate to prove it! Anybody has pictures from this year yet?

I was talking to a game warden this morning. He said they caught 7 guys together opening morning who had 3 moose and 2 deer jacked.Wardens took all their trucks, trailers, and wheelers.

my good buddy shot this one in Miramichi Thursday afternoon. Weighed 1000 lbs and had a 60.5 inch inside spread. Shot was 200 yards with 7MM Rem Mag and 160 grain Accubond. Came into the call just before dark. His 15 year old son was in the stand with him.

I talked to a fellow here in SJ today. He got 35 moose in this yr to cut up. Last yr he got 58, but he had more meat cutters last yr and could handle the extra work. He couldn't get as many guys this yr, incl myself as we had other work obligations.

BTW, he's charging 0.52 cents/lb for cut and wrap game.
