Ok so I am worse then a women (no offense) trying to figure which rifle to build. I really like to calibers one being the 6.5-06 and the other being the 280 Rem. I really am quit close to the 280 as it was the first real big game caliber i owned and also the first to take my first deer and bear. I would really like your input on these to calibers, and please keep it to these two.

280

I think the 280 is pretty close to the perfect light rifle round. Mines a 280AI so that makes is bit cooler, but I really like the speed, recoil, bullet choice of the 280.

I'm going to suggest the 280, because you like it more. I would AI it for sure though, as you want to keep the cool factor up.
You can run 140 grainers faster than the 6.5's will push them from a hunting length barrel and you can still get the heavies out at a good clip as well.

I have a 6.5/06 and a 280 and like them both, but I lean towards the 6.5. There is not much difference between them. The 280 may be your better choice because of available bullets and store bought rounds if need ammunition unexpectedly.

6.5-06 with a 1-8 twist would be pretty wicked long range gun, but if you're gonna go after bigger stuff like elk and moose the 280 has an edge, no doubt.
