New Campro 303 Bullets

I think Campro rifle bullets are best done in bulk and for shooting steel, not paper. Great for silhouette out to 300m or so.

I tried their 7.62 and 5.56 offerings a few years back and wasn't overly impressed. I got better accuracy with Hornady bulk options for both, so out they went.
 
You don't have a chronograph but you can still estimate based on your powder charge.

had a quick update. I reached out to Campro and got an email back from Patrick who is thier balistic expert. He sent me the data sheet i've attached here

I tried a couple of the loads and shot 5 shot groups at 25 yards to see how it works. The loads are
  1. Varget
  2. N140
  3. IMR 3031
  4. CFE223
  5. IMR 4895
seems my No 5 likes the Varget best which is the story with all my Enfields

My first group was after i warmed up the barrel with 10 shots. I have 1 extreme flyer which was 18in off, out of 50 rounds.

So, all in all its a really good result for a budget bullet

QC isn't lacking. You may be "lucky" enough to have a tight bore or your bullets are cast/sized to properly fit your particular bore.

My last No.5 needed .315 sized bullets to shoot well.

The Campro are .311-.312, and likely wouldn't have shot well in that rifle.

That being said, because the plated bullets can be driven harder with a quick powder the may have obturated well.

The other issue with many Lee Enfields out there is worn throats, bores, and muzzles.

Strange, because you stated that Varget wasn't working in your rifle in previous posts, or maybe I read it wrong.
 
I have just developed a 303 load using Varget under a 150gr Speer bullet. So far it has been decently accurate.

Not sure how Varget would work with a slower velocity plated bullet?
 
I assume those are the starting loads. The Varget load shows promise. 50 yards is a start. See what it does at 100. You may have to adjust your load doing a test with powder increases to see if you can find the load that works best in your rifle. You’re already testing and learning what works.

Thanks for posting the groups and the load data, much appreciated! I’ve got 2 loads to test with varget and imr4350 at around 2250fps. The varget certainly shows promise!

Again, it surprises me.

No diss intended here, so please don't take this as one, but "one" grain more of powder making enough difference to please you, especially with a very close powder charge you've used before, raises my curiosity levels.

Usually, it just doesn't work that way.

I'm glad it worked out for you with powder you have on hand.
