New canadian action

EM built my rifle. I’ve made cold bore shots at 800 meters. Their product is solid, well built and reliable.
Congrats to Steve and Shane on your new actions! Now I want another custom…..

Have you guys ever tried a right hand bolt, left hand port action for PRS style shooting? I've always had this thought it might be better, as the shooter can see into the port while head is mounted to rifle.

Robar Companies made a right bolt/left side port action many, many years ago (like over 20 years ago) for Tactical applications. It was an interesting concept at the time but It never really caught on............

Sadly I understand that Robar is no longer in the firearm manufacturing business.

Some rifle action builders have noted that the right bolt left port orientation on a feild action can be somewhat dangerous in an overpressure catastrophic failure event. If you can see the chamber behind the gun then you are liable to get that part of your face blasted by metal bits in this unlikely but dangerous event. Running an action dirty and hard (as I know you PRS/NRL guys do) only increases this risk. Sounds cool but is it worth your left eye cool?

I guess. But no one frets over lefties shooting conventional right hand eject rifles, either bolt or semis.
