Just got a new stock for precision savage build but it has no mag port looks like a blind mag. Can these be altered to fit my current model 10 its a vlp .243/w dbm? or will a new savage have to be perchased .Action screws are at 4.4 o/c,on the choate tac. stock. I did not know model 10's came without a detachable mag. what model 10 action would be appropriate for this blind mag choate tac.

Why didn't you purchase the appropriate stock for your model of rifle? Choate makes stocks for both DBM and blind mags.

That almost sounds like a stock for an older model 12 that has a double stack blind mag. I can't remember what the spacing on mine was.

when ordering the stock my supplier and i were talking model ten over stevens 200 and i setteled on the mod 10 but did not know there were blind mags. I was going the route of single shot mag follower but now I may need to perchase a nother savage for the action just can't determin which model to obtain

The action you have will work in either configuration. Personally, I would set it up as a DBM as the action is not a true single shot to begin with. That may involve negotiating a return with the supplier for the correct stock.

You can just inlet it for the DBM . I have the same stock but for a long action and I inletted it for the the Savage botton metal and factory mag.
