Well, in a weak moment at P&D today I puchased a new Colt Lightweight Commander in .45ACP. The funny thing is I was looking at purchasing a new Dell Laptop today, but for some reason this seemed like a better idea :)

Hopefully I will have it home soon and some pictures to post.

I had debated the Norinco route for some time, but a real Colt always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Here is one at TSE, but its a horrible picture.

Here is a slightly better picture.

Good decision making, I'd say. The notebook will depreciate quickly and in about 3 - 4 years, will be worth almost nothing. The Colt will appreciate (both offer hours of enjoyment).

There are many schools of thought on the subject of original or repro and someone is guaranteed to disagree with my opinion and flame my buttstock, but I have to vote for real deal, all things being equal. Just remember one important caveat: The market for high end guns is very different from that for the mainstream. You have to leave yourself lots of time to find the right buyer. If you're in a hurry, you're almost guaranteed to get burned - someone will be more than happy to take advantage of your urgency. You should try to be as knowledgeable as possible on the maker, the model, and the variants. 9 times out of 10, you can get more for a piece if you know what makes it different, more desirable, or unique compared to others of its type.

Congratulations on adopting a stray Colt from the S. P&D. C. A.!

Enjoy, just want you to make sure you know what you bought, but the stainless lightweight commander on there website is advertised as used (EX+...excellent condition), not new. Again just wanting to make sure you know what you paid for.

Well, there's your problem, see -- you were in the wrong store! Small wonder you didn't find the Dell computer!

Some would say that a word document is more powerful than a bullet (modernised). However I'm not one of them. You made the right choice. First time you got frustrated with the computer you'd be wanting that pistol anyway.

Colt Commander!

Good purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy 'er...

You made a great choice! Funny, the same thing happens to me almost every time I walk in the door at P&D...:D I usually leave with a new gun even though I didn't plan on it. Isn't it wonderful?
