Sold my XCR, liked it a lot, but was just not for me. Decided on a new VTR in A-tacs camo in 223. Since most of the weight is in the barrel, I tried a lighter scope, Leupold 4.5-14x40 with the CDS turret, no adjustable objective (only 12 ounces or so!). I used leupold dual dovetail mounts (started with medium, switched to low now). I added the alumina flip up caps, VERY awesome stuff compared to the butler creek ones that I tend to break off. The bipod is an atlas by accushot, I chose it for light weight and compact size, since I don't use it a lot. It has a knob at the bottom to increase the tension for the swivel and cant. I mounted it with a weaver rail that attaches to the top sling swivel stud, bought from ebay as I couldn't find them anywhere else. The sling is temporary, looking for one that matches the camo better. Shoots OK, about 1" with remington jacketed hollow points, the cheapest ammo I could find. Will play with it more in warmer weather. The only thing the picture does not show, is that I cut the muzzle break off yesterday on the surface grinder at work. I left about the factory crown about .100" below the end. I found the blast from the break to cause me to flinch after shooting it once or twice without hearing protection. No brake, no flinch. Besides a .223 hardly needs one. First coyote I took with it.
