Hey guys I've got a new CZ 452 Americian .22 on it's way from prophet..... just woundering what you suggest I use for rings on it???? I've had ring problems with lesser quality rings and rifles and to my knowledge the 452's are not drilled & tappes for rings just dovetails...SO FILL ME IN WHATS THE BEST ?????????:shotgun:

I have Millet mediums on my 452 Varmint and couldn't be happier and I must have tried every set of rings P&D had...

I bought some 1" Weaver Grand Slams from Darcy Bowyer to mount my Leupold rimfire scope on a 452 varmint. They work great and Darcy is a top notch guy to deal with.

merlin what are you using for a scope with your millet ring i am trying to get a nice fit right now for a tasco right now but am not having any luck either just touching with burris high or way off with the burris high rings with inserts. so i have the weaver see through right now till i figure something else out

Talley, Clay at prophet river sells them or you can buy them online (or by phone) direct from Talley. They make rings specifically for the CZ and I don't think you will find better rings or better fitting rings for the price.

Can't comment on rings but I will tell you that my 2 Americans shoot very well with Federal American Eagle 38gr hollow point ammo, for budget type ammo. FS

I enquired about the Talley rings and was told the only type available are the kind that clamp togeather at the top.....I don't like the look of that I prefer the more traditional type-----SO are millet the next best choise?????

Nice to hear we have another member of the CZ452 Fans Club. You will love your American.

As for rings, I got Weaver see-through mounts that were the cheapest at Reliable when I picked up my Varmint and the Bushnell 4-12X x 40AO. It provides more than enough clearance for the bolt handle to clear the scope, which was the biggest concern.

Put Millet on mine!

Mine loves the 38 gr AE hollow points as well. I'm using Leupold rings on mine, seemed like decent quality. You need fairly high one's for the bolt handle to clear the ocular bell. Can't remember, but I think mine are medium or highs.

I used burris deluxe steel rings on mine, I try to never ever use aluminum rings unlesss I absolutely have to. Even on a .22! I had an experience with cheap rings on a .22 wmr and the scope kept moving, I changed to the burris steel and no more problems.

The talley's are a superb ring, very well made. You would get used to the look, and maybe even learn to love it! I have talley's on my CIL 310 (anchutz), they are special made for that rifle and they are perfect.
