New DND Timberwolf

That maple leaf is the icing on the cake. Steve's the bestest.
PGW DEFENCE TECHNOLOGIES HAS BEEN AWARDED THE CANADIAN FORCES MRSWS CONTRACT TO REPLACE THE C3 RIFLE SYSTEM.
The PGWDTI MRSWS System includes:
-Timberwolf 338 Lapua SWS.
-PGWDTI Titanium sound suppressor.
-US Optics SN-3 EREK 3.2-17.
-Titanium 25 minute Picatinny rail.
-Simrad mount.
-Dual side laser designator mount.
-26" helically fluted barrel. 1-10" 6 groove.
-Titanium side port muzzle brake.
-A5 stock with Titanium Cantilever Monoblock bedding.
-Parts kit, cleaning kit, tool kit.
-Handstop and rail.
-Harris S-BRM bipod.
-Adjustable sling.
-Five 5 round magazines.
-Fitted Pelican 1750 case.
-Drag bag.
-Action cover, suppressor cover.
-Lapua 250 grain Lock Base ammunition.
-Complete training package (user care and technician).
-User and technical manuals.
-A 2 year parts supply.

Prairie Gun Works also submitted a .338"-chambered candidate to the CF trials. The Timberwolf is in effect an enlarged version of PGWDTI’s Coyote design. The only trialled rifle able to meet the CF’s 1250m accuracy specifications, the Timberwolf’s acceptance was delayed because of flaws in the CF’s 800m spec. In April 2005 a contract was awarded to PGWDTI. The Timberwolf is the CF’s new .338" Lapua Medium-Range Sniper’s Weapon System.

C14 is the designation I believe. MRSW is the type of weapon system, not a name and Timberwolf is just an official nickname which I believe PGW picked.

ie SRAAW(l) short range anti armour weapon (light) (the weapons system) aka the M72 (the designation).

Timberwolf

One small correction, if you may.

The CDN army kicked back on the US optics.
They wanted the 4-16X S&B PM scope that was on the test gun they tried.
This is the one I'm holding in my left hand (see my personal profile).
Belongs to my good buddy Gun Dr.
I witnessed Gun Dr. fire a 3 shot group at 560 yds and it measured 0.92 inch.
I saw the trace of the 3 rds go into the target with my 30X spoting scope.
I knew it was a good group but not until we went down there did I know how good it was.

PS: Now the brits want some. Clever, the japanese ! And AI lost the canadian contract.
