Looking at an acquaintances firearm the new Eagle Arms (Armalite) AR-15.
Says that at the range for the first time, it would fire during the reset of the trigger, but not every time.

I took a look at the lower receiver and found that if you did a slow release of the trigger like you should, it would indeed release the hammer. If you released the trigger quickly it would function properly, you would hear the reset click and the hammer would not fall.

So, there is some problem with the sear and hammer or the disconnector and hammer during that reset.

Anyone have this problem with their Eagle Arms AR-15? or know what this specific problem is?

Thanks,

The problem could be in the trigger, or the disconnector, or the hammer, or the lower receiver that holds all these parts in position relative to each other. Only way to know is to get some known good parts and compare them or swap them out.

make sure there is a disconnector spring in there or make sure that spring is in there properly ( wide side down). other than that, also check to make sure the 2 hammer spring legs are on the outside of the trigger body ( google the image, hard to explain here).

Cannot find the problem...

Thank you for the replies BattleRife and sky52.

The trigger group was disassembled and inspected, nothing looks out of the ordinary.
They were floating the idea of getting a drop in trigger before this happened, so instead of going through the hassle of shipping it back, they will try that first.

I have an original Eagle Arms (pre Armalite) purchased in 1990. after a couple thousand rounds I had the same situation arise. A new hammer and disconnect fixed it.

*Update*:

A triggertech 3.5lb was put in replacing the factory trigger control parts. Owner says it works like a charm now.
