new FAC, references check

Just currious. Is this odd, or standard procedure nowadays? My neighbour is getting his FAC and a couple of days ago the FAC people called me and asked a bunch of question including if I have any info that he is a violent person ect...

you have to include referencers in the app. they call most now.

Called my referances too although only on not the other

You'd think he would have at least asked if he could use you as a reference...This reads as you randomly got a phone call you didn't know was coming! A friend of mine asked em to be a reference for him, and i had to sign his papers. Never phoned me though.

Normal for the last 10 years or so. It's not an FAC anymore, now it's called a PAL (Pocession and Aquisition License).
