We are pleased to announce the opening of our new "The Restorer's Corner" (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=96.

This forum is specifically oriented towards content and discussions relating to the restoration and refinishing techniques on military surplus arms from all countries.

Besides our regular moderating staff (claven2 and Stevo), this particular forum is being spearheaded as a moderator by louthepou , whom many of you will recognize for some of his excellent posts showing fine examples of his Enfield restoration work.

We hope you enjoy this addition to the Military Surplus Collectors Forums.

Regards,
Badger

Just for clarity, this forum is not designed to encourage the sporterizing, humping , or bubba-ing of "all correct" and "original condition" collectible milsurps. In fact, discussions of that nature appearing in this forum will be considered heresy and summarily deleted without notice by the moderators. It IS designed to help collectors discuss the various techniques and skills needed to restore a damaged, or previously sporterized milsurp, to its formal "all correct" condition. ;)

Badger

sooooo....... no tankers :D

oh oh oh I have a hacksaw I'm going to make a LECI out of a LE II  I acutally saw one that was a LE I* that some hack tried to make into a fake RIC, even went so far as to stamp RIC on it

But yes good ideal, as it is getting harder and harder to find the proper parts to do a restoration and Lou is doing a great job.

:agree:

........ and thought it was time he had the opportunity to consolidate all is great work samples and restoration tips into one venue, that focuses purely on that singular topic. I wanted to call it "Lou's Restoration Corner", but he was too humble to accept that forum name. :)

I think between he and Claven2, we'll see some terrific posts on the subject. Now there's me, who my wife says that "my tools should be for show only and if you gave me a coffee break, you'd have to retrain me." :D :D

I guess I'll be more of a lurker in this forum than a doer, but I can always ship the rifles out to either of them to get the work done properly without breaking anything. ;)

Badger

Thanks guys. I, too, think it'll be great to have that one spot devoted to the refurb challenges. As Badger said, one reason for this meeting place will be to help in the Unbubbadizing of firearms!
