Hi,i'm a new user to this forum. Just getting back into target shooting after a 30 + year hiatus. I used to teach fire arm safety back in my army cadet days. Was a terrible shot back then LOL! But really enjoyed teaching and was on the special cadet platoon that twirled around FNC1 rifles during parades at Val Carrier back in the 70,s.
so now I'm re-learning and really enjoying target shooting at the local gun club With a .22 and HMR17 rifles both with scopes. Used to use open sites back then, scopes make it more enjoyable with these old eyes :)
So Now i'm. Looking at automatic hand guns, having tried several out last year, I was surprised and impressed as to how well I could shoot! So I supposed a seed was planted.
I am now Contemplating purchasing a new Ruger SR9 or CZ 40 or 45 caliber to start with. The SR9 reviews and price are attracting me to this fire arm, but they seam to be sold out in Alberta and are on back order for 6-8 months. So maybe a CZ might be on the menu. Any thoughts or input from any of you guys. Would be appreciated.....
Cheers:)

Hey man! Good to see more rig pigs on here. I just moved up here 3 months ago, but love the firearms community up here. Not to mention, one of the greatest outdoor ranges in Canada. Good to have more CGN users on line too. Evanc24 and GunGuy 34 both are McMurray folk as well.

As for your next gun purchase, I would put my vote on the SR9. Big fan of the Polymer pistols. I used to run a custom M&P9 with an apex kit. Im using a a Sig 1911 Tacops now, wanted to step up to the 45ACP.

I honestly hate 40S&W. Some love it but I dont think it's anything unique. Nothing a 9mm or 45 cant do. And 9 is cheaper. Anyways. Let us know if you need anything man!

Hey thanks for the reply Amazingkg3, I know that there are'lots of gun guys up here I believe that I know GunGuy 34!
Yup I do have my sites on the Ruger SR9 for my first hand gun.. Looks like cabela is selling them and a new store opening up in Edmonton this August, might be a quick trip south is in my very near future :)
Do u know if I can purchase 9mm amo up here in the fort? I can get riffle rounds from CT annd wallyworld but doubt that I can get hand gun round through them.
Cheers bro maybe c u out at the range.

I buy my ammo from P&D, SFRC, or Wolverine. Just PM us if you want a cut of a group order. Just as cheap as going to the store if we all chip in on shipping

Welcome aboard, Ezglider.
Have a look at the Newbie FAQ Section, the link is in my sigline below.

BTW, I visited Fort Mac for the first time last month. I am seriously thinking of taking a camp job, if I can find the right gig.

You can buy ammo from Outdoor Essentials in thickwood, but it will cost a little more then if you ordered it in from Wolverine Supplies, which is what i normally do unless im stuck. Well you found my hideaway Ezglider lol, was wondering when you were gonna join. Lots of info on here.

Welcome aboard Sir. For 9mm ammo I"ve had good luck with Tradex.Shipping was free for 1000 rds.It was swiss but not sure if any more available.Availability is piss poor here for a place with so much cash.

I got 1000 rounds shipped to my door for 320 from wolverine supplies. I thought that was good. The local guy is much more expensive.
