Hello, I'm going to be applying for my Restricted PAL shortly and a few friends mentioned this site as a good place to look for used firearms and for general discussion of gun ownership and use in Canada.
I'm not new to firearms but I've never owned any myself. When I was younger I used to shoot targets and tin cans with my dad's .22 in the woods behind our house. When I got a bit older I found myself in cadets on the range team and participating in biathalon competitions. I've shot some hunting rifles and I've also been to the range a few times with a friend that has some handguns.
Right now I'm looking forward to taking the course and eventually picking up some sort of .223 bolt action rifle for target shooting. I don't have any intentions of buying a restricted firearm right away, but I had a lot of fun at the range with the handguns and I could see myself getting one at some point.
