Just wanted to hi from Newfoundland, My father and I have decided to take up target shooting and we are getting out Restricted and Unrestrictive certification actually on the 30-31st. We both have experience shooting rifles but have decided to take on target shooting with handguns for the first little while.

As a Newfoundlander, I do have some start up questions and figured this was a good a place as any to say hi, and ask them. Any Newfoundland's out there able to point us in a good direction to purchase our first guns, We don't seem to have to many dealers here in Newfoundland, at least with a sizable selection to choose from.

From reading other post/greetings I would like to confirm first that we have already gotten our paper work from the RCMP, and have set up a time to go out to the Rod and Gun Club (Getting a Membership) We are both looking at the .22 handgun to start, but going to move to a 9mm in short order I think, because of this one of the gun I was looking at getting was the Sig P226 Classic, and I can convert it later.

Anyway, Hello to all. This seems like it's going to be a great help! And if anyone can point us to a place in Newfoundland that would be great!

Welcome. Any of the site sponsors here at CGN will likely be able to get you what you want. Arms East is a local outfit that also has plenty of toys available. If you join up at the St Johns Rod & Gun Club you'll find an active shooting community in several disciplines.

Welcome aboard from a fellow Newfoundlander. Lots of good people and info to be had here, don't be shy with the ?'s. What part of the Rock are you from by the way? If your on the east side SJRGC is a fine club too join. TradeEx Canada has the TT33 and 1000rds on sale for 370.00, its what I'm going for as soon as my RPAL comes in, they're a sponsor up on top of the page and a great crowd to deal with.If you have any ?'s get in touch, will help any way I can. Cheers.

Hey, thanks everyone, had my first class tonight for my unrestricted, Man I have to say the person teaching it takes it a lot more casually then training with the RCAC. I'm still not sure if thats good or bad.

Thanks Cainesy, I'm in St.john's a friend of my Dad said that Coastal Marine would be a good place to look, but I'll also look into TradeEx Canada, My father and I are going out to SJRGC this coming weekend (I do believe that is the information day).

If u ever wonder whats happening at the gun club check the web site annoucments it gives u times and whats happening. happy shooting

Ditto on Brone Mifflin. If you need any stock work done he is a wonder with a piece of wood. He should be able to set you up with any guns you're looking for as well. I bought a few from Brone while I was still back on the Rock.

Welcome aboard and fire away with the questions. This is a great site to be a part of.
