New from Thompson/CENTER

It seems ( Please correct me if I am wrong ) is that you have a rifle that can go

either:

.243 308 or 708

or

.204 223

etc...

Each set up is interchangeable with were similar rounds as opposed to being able to go from lets say a 7mm mag to a 223 like you can with their single shot guns. I don't see this as being any huge advantage to the buyer. You get a gun that can use either just varmint rounds or just deer rounds.

Not worth the $$ IMHO their original single shot guns are far more versatile.

Ya, with the SIG the only time you changed bolt or mag was when changing to a magnum caliber or vise versa otherwise it is just the barrel and your good to go. The only real down side is that the scope mounts to the frame and not the barrel!

Not sure what the deal is with the T/C calibers.

I like the concept, but I agree with powdergun that their single shot guns are more versatile, and that stock looks like it was designed to look different for the sake of looking different, which always suggests to me that they don't really have any good ideas but they are willing to bullsh#* you for your money.

Pleased to see it offered in a left handed version. The stock is different, and I would have to get my hands on one before I made any snap decisions.

My brother in law hated the look of the encores... until he put one up to his shoulder. At that point he had to have one.

I'm into T/C Contender carbines I change out the barrels constantly even with the scope mounted to the barrel I almost always double check my zero before heading out for a hunt because it is usually out/off a bit.

This new rifle you will either have to re-zero or swap out scopes which really isn't that big of an issue if you set up the receiver with a quick detachable scope ring/base system but you will have to re-zero it every time you swap out a barrel.

Concept is good I'm just not interested in it.

Now if T/C would start exporting Contender/G2 barrels/frames/components into Canada that would be news to me...

I was considering picking one up eventually, but i f you have to stick to the "catagory EX: A, B, C or D then why would you? I like it cause it isnt a single shot. I like my bolt actions :D
