I picked up a sporterized Lee Enfield #4 a few weeks ago, it had the original front sight and full length barrel, I wanted it a little shorter, I have a Husky that is at my local gun smith waiting for a similar front sight, was supposed to be a "few weeks" it is now almost three months. So out of stubbornness and ignorance I decided to do this one myself [blame Youtube], I had the pieces left over from another project. I gave away the original sight.

Looking good !! How does it shoot? How did you install the sight? Did you re-crown the muzzle ?

Still shoots minute of milk jug, the sight is the NECG Masterpiece model with a set screw, I dremeled it until it was a snug fit at the end of the barrel, then hit it on a little further with a block of wood then tightened the set screw. Yes I re-crowned the muzzle using a fine dremel stone and valve grinding compound. It was pretty labour intensive, not worth all the work for the value of the rifle but it was satisfying, luckily I already had the sight. The high viz fibre optic gives a much clearer sight picture through the aperture.
