My tier 2 bestest friend and I were at the manufacturers place of business today for a few hours.

My so-called friend took home a repeater action and will make its debut at the Kamloops gun show this weekend, and they are for sale as of today.

The latest and greatest new CANADIAN made for FTR competition single shot action are almost done.

Guess on the specs and you will be amazed.

Yes it is a Remington short action footprint, but do you think it will have some, most or all of the following as standard features:

1. A little larger tang

2. Sako extractor

3. Boron nitrite melonite both action and bolt

4. Marked. FTR as the model designation and serial numbered FTR range(special serial number requests may be honoured I asked for 666 or 001)

5. 2 and 3/4 port opening with perhaps circular ends, may not eject a 185 Juggs but a little weight saving,

6. Bottom is a single shot with special bottom machining for saving a little weight

7. 2 lug or perhaps 3 lug

Yes some of you know I have a BAT 3 lug melonite on the way but this one is made in Canada I Kidd you not

8. Plans are to also offer them for export

Owner is not internet savvy but my friend will contact gun nutz to see if they need to be a sponsor once they are made

Weight you ask how about with a recoil lug and a rail 32 ounces or less they are about 27 ounces without recoil lug as a repeater, and without the FTR specific changes we discussed with the manufacturer

Good stuff for Canadian gun nutz guys and gals in the near future

We got to get ahold of the moderators and my friend gets to do the official release of this made for FTR actions Pricing is pretty good as well, I am going to put my spare stiller up for sale when I get back from the day operation I must go to tomorrow

Later. Eh.

Always nice to see a Canadian company making some actions and I really hope they are a well thought out design to hang long barrels from unlike some.
I find a rem footprint on the smallish side though but am anxious to see what comes of this.

Oh Sure Jeff - you sell me a Yankee made one and NOW you tell me this!!!!

HAhAHAHAHAH- I'm kidding. I couldn't be happier with my Kelbly.

So I did not make Kamloops... So some more info on the action. Manufacture? How about pictures? Please don't charge 25 bucks a picture please. ;).

coned bolt

Alberta manufacturer is also doing barrels as well,

Bob will have something on his facebook page in the next week or so I think,

we are going to Homestead this weekend and may bring the action there,

rather than give away a action or 1/2 a action how about special pricing for the first dozen single shots and the first dozen mag fed actions

or a free rail for each action purchased, we are helping the manufacture try to come up with pricing and set something for the first buyers,

I have already stepped up to the plate with an order placed through Bob,

was away for a day surgery and sewer backup so a little busy

I cannot do pics but maybe bob can or we can sent it to someone to post for you

butt the drool rag ready,

oh and short range benchrest shooters the price is 500 bucks more in USA funds and a 4 to 6 month wait, kinda what you are used to when buying

things form the USA used from the big dogs.

I didn't see it at the show.........

I saw it and held it, also took a bunch of pictures of it.........all I can say is that it is slicker then Jefferson lets on, solid well built action and the only real difference between it and a remington is the fact that it is .1 of an inch longer at the front of the action. When they decide on final pricing I will be in for a solid bottom single shot

here is a bit of a teaser..............

Karl has been making the repeater actions, drilling barrels for a few months now. He said he is also doing some singe shot versions, and I believe some chassis rigs.

So, just to clarify.. the action from that picture (K.S. arms) is the new action or Bob Jury has an action as well? Or they're one in the same?

Does any one have a projected weight for the single shot action?
Is the colour a melinite (sp) coating?

yes and nicely done in Edmonton you should get some of your bench gun bolts done there

HI Dan, I am off to f-class for the weekend how is short range benchrest?

the weight is in the first post, Bob wants it to be as light as a Panda and personally think it will be close within a couple of ounces, especially if you just use rings and not the pic rail

cheaper than the bat 3 lug! my 3 lug bat should be here within a month

later off to beddy bye
