it would probably not be such a great idea to try this - some firearms are really sensitive about whether there is or isn't water and or air in the barrel at the time of firing. 1911's react well if completely submerged and absolutely no air is present, but if there's a bubble anywhere - bang. C-7 rifles explode quite nicely with water (so I hear - never seen it personally) seems to be a mixed bag, but I would imagine the science is probably along the lines of if the 2 environments are mixed( both air and water are present in ANY part of the weapon-includes firing pin channel, mag well, slide, etc.) the gun goes bang and the operator loses the ability to count to ten. Besides, does anyone here have a swimming pool that's legally recognized as shooting range?????? If you do I'd love to join your gun club, if not lets just avoid making ourselves criminals.
