new glock MOS... can't wait!

I recently had the opportunity to test this combination, although the sight had the triangular reticle.
Shot really well. I was impressed.
The sight on the one I tried had fiber optic only illumination, no tritium.

I think these new optic ready slides are the way to go. I know c.o.r.e. Is great, but the mos is really cool. I shot a reflex equipped semi last summer and now I am planning my next pistol......

Just put a cheap reflex sight on my Buckmark. At $60 I figured I wouldn't loose much if it didn't work. Huge improvement in accuracy. Much better view of the target and easier to shoot both eyes open. My 15 yard groups went from about 4 to 6 inches down to all inside the 3" circle. I plan on upgrading all my target handguns to Reflex. Really helps my crappy old eyes.

The advantage of a reflex or other optical sight is that there is no front and rear sight alignment issue.

Well first 8 shots out of it. I was extremely happy with this! Then on the 8th shot, i felt something hit the inside of my left elbow... one of the RMR screws. Turns out that both of them were stripped right off the bat and one of them didn't hold at all. I took the other one out when I got home to find it was stripped too. This is super annoying because I've been looking into it, and Trijicon sells a cheap pack with the right screws but nothing is listed anywhere for Glock itself. These are the 2 longer screws that come pre-installed in the slide. The short ones it comes with are for the various base plates to the slide, but there are no extras of the longer ones to mount the sight to the baseplates. Trijicon doesn't allow shipping to Canada for some reason and even Amazon.com (amazon.ca doesn't have them) won't ship them to Canada.

So while I'm super pleased with the accuracy of the gun and how easy it was with the RMR, I'm pretty pissed off that I will have to wait for (my guess) weeks just for a couple of screws. I can't even re-mount the original cover plate back on the gun so I have this ugly mounting plate installed until the screws arrive. Grr. I suppose I can just hunt down some machine screws with the right thread and cut/file them down. I still think that Glock should provide a good dozen or so with the gun. At least the plate isn't stripped, just the screws. I didn't even force anything (I'm an industrial electrician - I deal with a lot of screwing) and they just flopped like plastic in there.

The tritium isn't super bright in the dark but I suppose in a pitch black tactical situation, it would still be handy. The fibre optic in daylight is just incredible though. I was actually aiming to get that triangle reticle but stumbled upon a great deal for this one in the exchange on here so saved a couple hundred bucks.

The owner of the pistol I tried told me that with the fiber optic reticle, if the pistol is in deep shade, and the target in bright light, the reticle is hardly usable. Perhaps the tritium would make a difference in low light. At least batteries are a non-issue.

I have a Trijicon Tritium rifle sight. Like the Op's Aimpoint, it is useless in low or no light. I can't explain it, neither could my LGS. Originally they thought it was a factory fault with mine but then they checked the ones in inventory and all of them don't light up in the dark. You can see the dot in daylight but it disappears in the dark. I thought maybe if you condition your eyes to the dark, the dot would reappear, it eventually does but is very faint. It's a crappy sight for transitioning between light and dark.
The sight no longer sits on my rifle.

IMHO the MOS was a "swing and a bunt".

They should have offered a version with tall ("suppressor") sights and a "melted" slide cut for the RMR sight.

That would permit co-witnessed iron sights.

I'm doing just that to a G17. Assuming I like the setup I will also do it to a G20.

I'll be using the RM07 red Dot sight.
