just got this one finished up...beadblasted the barrel and assembled it today.

Short stainless 700 action that I bought on CGN over a year ago, and a VS stock from CGN....both came from Saskatchewan, these guys are GOOD neighbors:D :) ,...my own 17-4 H1150 SS recoil lug.....King 14" twist tube at 26-1/2".........Elite 4200 6-24X in Burris Dual Dovetails........in 221 Fireball..........our own "cccan" modified a mag box and follower for me, feeds great:cool: .....will shoot it tomorrow and hopefully try it out on gophers soon....:)

This is the Fireball that Remington should have built....not some blued/walnut pseudo sporter....or some short barreled, blind mag fluted wanna-be coyote rifle....BUT,...if they'd have chambered the XR-100 in the Fireball I would already have one...

the 221 would work, inside 300 yards, better yet 250. Its not *too* far behind the 222

not a hardcore coyote gun, but Id use one if I had one...now, do I need one? :D

That is an awesome looking rifle....

I just put together my gopher gun this spring a Remington 700 Police in 223 with a Bushnell Elite 6-24X Mil-Dot a/o scope. The only extra that I did was that I adjusted the factory trigger to 2.5lbs.

I'm getting 1/2" 100 yard groups with my varmint loads which are 50gr Sierra Blitz @ 3250fps and 60gr Sierra HP Varminter's @ 3010fps. The 60gr loads will give under 3" groups @ 300 yards when it's not to windy.

I finally found some Varget powder and want to try loading Sierra 69gr Matchkings with it for my target loads so that I can try out shooting F class competitions.
