These look like an interesting option that's a little more affordable than McMillan's traditional offerings.

Read some reviews over at SH - they seem to be decent.

I am not sure if it is actually produced by McMillan or a licensed version.

Now - can we actually get them in Canada...

"Phoenix, AZ– June 22, 2016 – Ryan McMillan and the McMillan Group, worldwide leader in firearms industry innovation, announces the launch of Grayboe Stocks in association with the McMillan Group of companies."

From this press release it sounds to me like it's a new branch of McMillan. But it's not 100 percent clear. I might be reading what I want to hear.

"Known the world over as the most successful tactical design in history, the McMillan A5 is brought to the 21st century thru new materials and construction technique by the only authorized licensee of that coveted name, Grayboe, LLC . Grayboe Is fully licensed and approved by McMillan Fiberglass Stock Company to carry on the tradition of this fine design with the assurance of the strict adherence to quality and detail the original has set its reputation on for the last two decades."

This is right from their site, sorry I'm on my phone I can't get the link, but it's the same link the the OP posted

That's a lot clearer than what I saw.. Thanks!

The more important thing (as 223submoa said) is the affordability thing.

McMillan/Manners stocks were pricey before the dollar took a dive. Always good to have some more value oriented options.

Is there paperwork required to bring stocks back? I could just get it mailed to my p.o box across the border and drive it back

So now it's possible to get a mcmillan stock in less than 14 months? That's great but they should of done this year's ago. Chassis systems are more affordable than ever, come with qd mounts, bottom metal and don't require bedding. Feels like a sluggish reaction to a loss in market share to me.

Figured I'd bump this rather then making a new thread.

Looking at getting one to replace an A5 on my 223 trainer, anyone got any first-hand experience with one?

Bighorn Sales, right here on CGN, can get them. They have a post in the EE (Exchange of Parts and Accessories for Precision and Target Rifles).

They only do Remington 700 at this time. Here are a few pics from their site.

I have one, it is an A5 clone. Very decent for the price, mine was inlet for Rem 700 short action with BDL bottom metal, a little work with a dremel and it was opened up for stiller bottom metal and AICS mags. I would buy again for sure.

The owner of Grayboe in the grandson of Macmillan stocks, when the grandfather sold the operation he gave his grandson the rights to manufacture the A5 stock. The grandson also improved it to be better modified, the stock is of a solid material. The only cavity is located in the butt stock. Plus it can be easily repaired with marine epoxy. I'm currently getting a custom built rifle with this stock. I'm looking forward to shooting it.
