I'm going to be parkerizing a Dominion Arms 870. I've read that the finish is a "black oxide finish". Does this finish need to be removed prior to parkerizing? If it does will muriatic acid work? Any parts of the trigger group I shouldn't park after it's disassembled? Finally, any tips on suspending the barrel in the park tank? Thanks.

Yes, just use Muriatic acid. The trigger group is aluminum, so will dissolve in the acid or park solution.

I look forward to seeing the results.

Grizzly finishing

I was actually wondering if the Grizzlies had alloy trigger plates like the Remington - good to know. I've got some Brownells Aluma-Hyde II for the trigger plate and stock, no problems there. So I'm good to go to throw the rest of the trigger group parts in? Also, since CanadaAmmo is answering questions here (thanks for taking the time) do you have spare Grizzly parts in stock?

Hey Chris,

Wanna make some coin? Getting the manufacturer to produce STEEL trigger groups instead of aluminum would be great - there is money to be made there, I guarantee it.
