New Gun Nut with a few questions

Hey, hope everyone is enjoying putting some rounds down range.

I am returning to shooting after a few years of a break. I have a SR Ruger 10 22 (https://www.tacticool22.com/firearms/ruger-sr-22/) with a Bi Pod and an AimPoint PRO (https://www.rdsc.ca/aimpoint-pro-patrol-rifle-optic-2-moa-qrp2-mount.html). I put it together like 10 years ago. Stuff was way cheaper.

Now I want another fun gun to shoot. Was thinking of this: https://www.gotenda.com/product/vikings-vk12-bullpup-semi-shotgun-grey-w-free-ammo-offer/
Anyone know anything about it?

I was also thinking maybe this one? https://www.#######.ca/firearms/rifles/owen-sound/marlin-rem-44-mag-tricked-out-upgrades

I know totally different price points and guns lol. I really like the idea of a high quality lever action. Also looked at a few Henry Lever Actions, mostly in .357 MAG and .44 MAG.

That Bullpup shotty looks fun though, it'd match the Ruger for sure haha. Any thoughts and opinions are welcome. Be safe and be accurate my friends.

Do you reload? If so I'd get a lever in 44 because you'll feel something when shooting it+the extra power to hunt critters with.

I haven't got into reloading. I only have a 22 so there was no point in it.

I know very little about reloading but I believe I did read that .44 is an easier bullet to do. Was a random Reddit post so no idea if it's true or not. I was looking at the 44 for the "kick" lol. No real experience with it besides one or 2 range days with other people. Usually just shoot on the property here.

Welcome to CGN!

I recommend every new shooter buy one good starter handgun / rifle / shotgun, and practise ammo. Shoot as much as you need to get familiar with the firearm and yourself. There is no sense in chasing the latest trend in the glossy gun magazines and websites; the articles are always a big part of the manufacturer's publicity and marketing campaign. There are few truly neutral gun reviews.

For many many shooters, the entry point was a .22LR either a bolt or a semi like a 10/22, a Cooey, or a Savage. There is nothing wrong with having a basic gun! Shoot it as often as you can, and challenge your hold, aim and squeeze every time.

Edited to add - pistol calibre carbines are cheaper to feed than rifle chamberings. However, past history with the government of today isn't in their favour. The geniuses who make the regulations (because the law is already set) just don't like anything related to handguns. A .44-mag might find itself on someone's bad bad guns list. If you want a centrefire, I recommended running with the crowd and buying an SKS.
