New gun :)

So, I just bought a new gun

It's a Harrington Richardson Buffalo Classic in 45-70. 32" barrel, Williams peep & Lyman front sight, looks like it should be fun

This action should be OK with 60,000psi loads. The steel buttplate looks uncomfortable, so I've kept the loads to what (should be) ~1750fps and a 405gr hard cast bullet.

From what I've heard, Marlin only makes these in special limited runs once a year, so when I saw it, I knew I had to have it.

I'm not a big fan of the furniture - the checkering feels cheap, and the urethane finish doesn't seem 'right' on a rifle like this. I plan to strip it and re-finish the wood with oil for a more 'authentic' look. I'm also pretty sure I'm going to want something instead of the (beautiful) case-hardened steel buttplate, but I don't want to ruin the looks of the rifle, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do there.
