hello my name is sean and i just passed my pal test and sent away my paperwork. i thought this would be a great site to learn more about guns and hunting. im trying to resreach which would be a good hunting rifle for a good price. i live in grand forks bc which is half way across bc and right on the border with the states.

Hi Sean.
Get yourself a 30.06, or a 308.
There was surplus ammo for the 06 and there's lots of surplus 308 ammo, for cheap practice.
A bolt action rifle by Remington, Winchester, or Ruger with a 4x scope mounted on it, and you're good to go.
You want a bolt action for the strength and camming action that allows you to neck size your cases when you start reloading.
