Hi everyone, John here. Just found this place a few days ago, great info here! I just took my safety course at Silvercore and passed with flying colors. I have a couple of questions before sending in my PAL application. At the risk of sounding like a criminal, I was charged with some things a few years back involving a citizens arrest which were later thrown out in court except for one which was possesion of a weapon. It was not a gun or knife, but a tire iron! Would something like this prevent me from getting my licence? Should I wait for a while until my "pardon" goes through to put in my application? Thanks in advance and either way I will still be shooting my friends guns even if I can't buy my own!

:welcome: You could phone the cfc and inquire about it. If you have a short time before the pardon goes through i would just wait until the pardon clears. Just make sure you have good references that won't bring up the fact that you were charged with something from years ago. That could put a flag on your file and your references would be called everytime you buy a firearm. I have known a few people that have been charged with assault or something similar but a certain amount of time had to pass before they could get there license. They have there references checked all the time when they buy firearms.

Thanks for the responses and welcomes. If I put in my application and they deny it, am able to apply again in a year or two? Will they tell me that I have to wait for a while?

Thanks again.
