It depends on what cartridge.... what are you reloading for? Pistol cases will last a lot longer than most rifle cases. It also depends on how hot your loads are, if you neck size or full length size, etc.

I'm at my 3rd reload of my .308 Federal and Winchester brass for my basic hunting/shooting rounds and I've had to throw out my brass for my varmint loads after 2 firings but they're dead accurate out to 300 yards nothing like stretched brass. So like said above depends on what your using and how much so experiment with bullets and powders and the rest will come to you. I'm going to be trying different powders for my varmint loads so the brass may last longer on my next batch which will be SOON.

If you are getting short brass life, try neck sizing, or partial full length sizing.
Set your dies so they just touch the shoulder of the case.
This results in less brass working, and usually much longer case life.
It may cause issues with auto loaders, but should be fine in most bolt guns.
The other thing you can do, is do not load so hot.

Less hot loads have no accuracy and start dropping at 100 yards I'm using speers 125gr TNT's. My brass has no signs of over pressure at the primer just after 2 firings the lower half of the brass is SUPER shinny where as the rest is a lightly weathered brass look. The kind of look you get when you handle the rounds. Since I so new to reloading if I have any doubt about the brass it goes in to my .50 ammo can for recycling once full. Better safe then DEAD or MAIMED. As for what it's shooting from an M88 a bolt gun with a rotating face that uses a lever to open and close

I got over 20 reloads with a batch of 308 Winchester brass. Loads were not mild, but not max, either. neck sizing reduces stress and stretching. A Lee Enfield is harder on brass than bolt actions with front locking lugs.
