New guy wants reloading course in Vancouver.

I'd just go buy a set of reloading gear from reliable gun off kingsway and then teach yourself. Those guys will give you the basic rundown, then you just follow the instructions in your manual. Piece of cake.

How much would it run me to buy a set of reloading gear? I'm a student, so cheaper is better than expensive...
If you're starting out and aren't cranking thousands at a time, get your feet wet (without breaking the bank) by going with Lee. Try the Anniversary kit with the Challenger single stage press and the Lee Auto powder dispenser. Are you thinking of pistol or rifle reloading? I can recommend Higginson's in Ontario for the complete Lee line and reliable customer service.

Well, I'm thinking it's going to mostly be rifle rounds I'll be reloading. I have a Tokarev, but thats the cheapest ammo out there. $300 for 2280.

My mauser isn't so cheap though.

$500 for a starting kit is a little steep. That doesn't come with powder, or primer. Or lead. That's probably another 60-70 bucks, isn't it? Sigh.

I should have gone into paper airplane making as a hobby.

Ariser, goto the HACS 2 DAY GUNSHOW ON NOV.18-19 at the OPERATING ENGINEERS HALL in BURNABY, near their city hall. ilovepotatos you goto the DUNCAN GUN SHOW NOV.26 at the EAGLES HALL TURN AT THE LIGHT just south of the twin bridges as you enter DUNCAN, there is usually a SMALL SANDWICH BOARD SIGN on the left on the traffic island. Gun shows sometimes have reloading equipment for sale, but to get a bargain you should know what the CANADIAN retail price is. Gun shows are also a great way to spend a couple of hours, just becareful of the SPEND part.

Read the thread again it says the APRIL 2007 2 day show will be in CHILLIWACK. The NOV. 18 & 19 , 2006 show is on LEDGER AVE in BURNABY near BURNABY CITY HALL

oops , My bad, Burnaby it is.

I will agree it will be a good place to buy used reloading equipment, As you said "know your prices before you go"

While I have gotten fair deals at gunshow, they usaully want new prices for old junk. Try Higginson for Lee stuff. For a student ,stick with the Lee Aniv kit,it has almost everything for $125. Spend the money on powder and bullets, not reloading equipment, now.

One of these days, I'm going to take a shovel to all the crap that has collected on my bench, and once i dig down to the presses, I'll try to organize a bit of a reloading clinic. It is something that I have thought of doing for a while, but somehow life seems to get in the way.
My gear is in an unheated garage, so lets plan for April or May. I would prefer to keep it to about 6 or 8 students, (small garage!)
I'll post something later on.

a few years ago a few of us in ontario set one up.....it went ok for a first try at it....we had a few guys that took the time to show us all the basics.....we all had a turn at all stages of the reloading....i have not bought a factory round after that..

Foxer on the site got me the basic info on reloading and I have been doing it since.. I ordered my lee "Kit" from SIR Mailorder. You can order everything online with a credit card and they deliver in like 3 days.
