Hey all, I'm new here so I thought this was as good a time as any to introduce myself. Anyway I sent away for my PAL/RPAL in December and I just got a call from the RCMP on Friday and so did my references. I was just wondering how long after do they generally issue your license? Thanks. I'm just really antsy to pick up my M9 and Lee Enfield :D lol

If you are lucky it will be issued 28 days after they receive it. Check their website obsessively for any changes in status:D

That's the truth, I checked the website about three times a day, morning, noon, and night. Finally I called the CFO cause I was getting impatient and my application was accepted before I woke up in the morning. :D

I waited until the 45th day before I called. I wish I would have called sooner because it was issued within minutes after talking to the CFO.

I was expecting it to take 3 months or so, and I was like 'this is gonna take forever' but then the call came and I nearly crapped myself. I've been checking the website but no changes so far...

How long did yours take? Mine was received on the 24 of December, and I'm not quite sure how the 28 day period works. Does it start the day they receive it? or does it start the day it shows up on the status check?

With mine, my references and I were called on the same day.

As far as I know the 28 days starts from the day it completes it's initial processing, which is them entering your info into the computer and start your file. I am just assuming they do that the day they get it. During that time they make their calls and do any background checks, ect.

It took 34 days from the time I mailed the application until I had the card in my hands.

I got mine in around 50 days after i mailed it, It was for a R-PAL. They issued it the same day they called me and my references and I got it in the mail a week and a half later. It all depends, my friends dad's took 8 months...
