Hey guys

I just bought a USC45 for 1959$ at gotenda.com awesome people to deal with BTW. Couldnt Resist i know how much these guns go for these days.........

I enjoy pimpin the shhhh out of my guns and i would have multiple questions concerning the USC.

1st question barrel lenght(s) :
if you change your barrel lenght do you have to get your weapon verified? since they are already restricted can i keep both barrel and change them when i want?
How does it works when you own multiple ar15 uppers that are compatible with your lower? you can change em how/when you want? (i really dont know)
been thinking about new ar15 uppers, so im really wondering the answer to this question.

2nd question fake can :
i cant decide yet if i wanna go to short barrel or short barrel + fake can. I dont know much about fake cans yet can they be attached to a threaded barrel? or it would go over the long barrel?

3rd question mags :
from what i ve understood USC45 lower cant accept UMP45 mags... any modifications on the mags or anything? I dont think i might take the ump conversion route. Might like longer magazines.
i dont like the price associated with the modification only to get longer mags, so i was thinking about ANY alternatives.

Please share opinions and suggestions, Except the fully auto UMP45 i ve tried in Las Vegas i dont know much about this firearm platform
and i would like to get mine pimped as much as it can be.

This project should keep me busy the whole winter!

Thanks

thanks for the reply but i really had before creating this thread.

I was looking about clarifications about all of variants stock block a,b,c - hdps and hera conversions.... and foremost legal concerns about re-barrel laws details.

Im glad i already found 8.5 barrel and rail kit made by d-lask.

So lets say i got barrel and rail kit incoming soon... what about my stock... do i need to change my lower to put a new stock on this thing?

any companies got stocks in canada? or i need to starting thinking about importing?

would be my two main concern.

No problem there. No need to have it verified. Your not making changes that effect it's classification.

2nd question fake can :

Over the long barrel is the norm but it don't matter.

It can't take UMP45 mags unless you have the magwell modified by Tom Bostic or just replace the lower with a UMP lower.

The one in my safe has a Hera Arms grip with an ACR folding telescoping stock. It does not look UMP authentic but is more practical. because:
1. It has the ability to adjust length of pull which a UMP stock does not.
2. The 5/10rd USC mags are just about the length and width of a 5/30 AR mag and that is big enough to grip and short enough for prone/bench shooting. The UMP mags are gigantic and therefore unnecessary when they all need pinned to 5 anyway.

Pretty much the only easy option is the conversion unless you go Hera. there are a few other option suggested and small production runs of other choices on HKpro and sold through HKParts.

If you choose to go the HDPS route, you need to get an UMP lower and UMP mags, plus a few other parts. HKParts has a list of what's needed to complete the conversion. If you can find a Hera stock, then you don't have to change the lower and you can keep the USC mags. It all really depends on which look you are going for, authentic UMP or one-off USC.

Note that if you go the HDPS route, you will have to cut the receiver to accept the larger UMP mags, and play around with the tang size of the UMP lower as well. Check out the video below to see most of what needs to be done to complete the conversion:

Concerning aftermarket parts availability, aside from getting different barrel lengths, there's almost nothing to be found here in Canada. It looks like your only option is to import stuff from the US.

As for changing the barrel length, since it's restricted to begin with, I believe you need to have it verified by a gunsmith afterwards. Best bet is to call your local CFO and have them confirm what your options are.

personnally i would like to keep simple and modify what can be modified. as much as possible without changing the lower..

rails, new barrel should be enough and for the stock i would like to to do the same mod someone on CGN did to the original skeleton stock. Cutted it, plastic welded it etc..it was cool.
