New Hatsan Shorty Auto

why is a 12" pump NR and a 12" semi restricted ?

Hard to say if this is a serious question or not.... SO I'll answer both.

Legally, its restricted because a semi-auto needs a barrel length of 18.5" or its restricted. Manual actions have no barrel length restrictions.

The other answer is because anything thats semi-auto and has a barrel shorter than 18.5" is a mass-murder-inducing-baby-killing-machine.

This won't sell very well here as Restricted. Would rather have my 14" Pump and take it everywhere. Having a 470mm barrel defeats the purpose of having a 'shorty shotty'.

Our laws are ridiculous.

They will sell as long as they have the opposite of the "non restricted black gun tax" applied.
The non restricted Hatsan semi shotguns are around $500 so if these come in cheaper due to their restricted use they will find a small market.

I agree. what good is it if you can't take it outside.

I'm sure many people in urban areas are a long way from a safe outdoor shooting area or range.
For those people restricted class is less of an annoyance as the magority of their shooting is confined to short distances and often indoor ranges.

I get tired of loading low capacity SB pumps, never mind how fast I would be emptying the limited mag on one of these short autos!

In doors ranges are often the only ranges we can practically use in this area(non urban) and restricted is still a pain in the ###

I hear you, but it's even more of a pain in the a s s for the guy living on acreage that can shoot in his back yard with the .50cal but has to drive for an hour to shoot his MK II ruger .22lr.
