got my new serrated 95 fibre optic sight installed on my Stock II today. man it's so much brighter than the factory, even with the narrower rod. that extra length of exposed rod (why does that sound dirty?) makes a huge difference. I used a bunch of red loctite since we can't even drill a small détente in the slide to help hold the sight in place, but it went in so tight I doubt it'll be a problem anyhow. As with the previous factory sights I've installed, a small amount of metal peeled off the right side of the sight base as it was going in.
I'll get pics up tomorrow. I brought in 3 figuring if I didn't bugger up two of them I'd flip them on here. So since I didn't, first come, first served. As far as I know I'm the first to get the serrated 95s from Henning.

I have it on my Limited Custom and my Stock2. I think 4 string got a stock2 in .40 with the Henning front sight. I like it,..I can see thru the sight picture better,...great for steel. I had to drill a whole in my Limited Custom,...as it flew off during a match:redface:,..lucky I found it and picked up a cobalt drill bit shortly after.

alhough it may be painfull to do,..you could mash the sides of the front sight base,..which may allow a tighter fit. Little metal slivers and such could also cause it to have a tighter fit.

ahh but the sight I have is different than everyone else's apparently. I got the first run of serrated .095 (I think that's the measurement) iFibers.
CK123, the sight has a set screw in it already, but it's not in the same spot as the factory one so it doesn't engage the factory hole.
I'll try to get pics up tomorrow night. just got back from the Bruce Siddle lecture (yeah we went out after), and tomorrow have the David Grossman lecture to attend, so it's off to bed shortly. However I did test the gun out tonight and it was only two clicks up to get it zeroed, and five clicks left (which centered the rear sight as both factory front sights were out of whack from the get go). in dim dusk, overcast conditions it was much brighter than the factory FO sight. much much brighter. I could actually see it in the dark shadows of the shooting lanes outside. much crisper with the smaller rod too. Very very impressed. I highly recommend Hennings stuff.

yep,..the rod has a longer exposed piece,..gathers more light,..yet does not create that "halo" effect. JB weld could also work,.I think I read someone had done that.

You can notch a little detent into the slide with a carbide ball-cutter (drill press) or one of those nifty diamond cutters you can get at Lee Valley; they are awesome! Then if you are SURE you don't want to take the sight out again, use this locktight: ht tp://www.henkelna.com/cps/rde/xc...rentredDotUID=0000000GHE&redDotUID=0000000HZO and it should last until you decide you don't like it anymore. This is the stuff we use to fasten compensators.

Post the damn pics already Rob. My fibre optic is the .40 one on my Stock II.

Have either of you found a better way to remove the rubber base pads for cleaning yet? I'm still using the plastic ones until a better system or technique is found.

You should find some old short screws from a window blind. That is what I am using to screw them on the basepad,..they are easier to work with. Hardware store should have some screws. The holes in the metal plate the rubber pad screws onto are too small. FYI.

Use glue fir the base pads. Using the screws is a waste of time. still at work so no pics yet.
