Hello,

I joined awhile ago and lurked around, but never posted. So I'm new here, and frequent a lot of other gun forums.

I like hunting, shooting and firearms collecting.

Also, I'm from the USA if that matters at all.

Thanks and glad to be here! w:h:

Welcome aboard....okay now you can forget everything you knew about living in a free country!! Like the rest of us, you will be frustrated by the gun laws, but may be amused at how easy a time of it the criminals have......enjoy!!!

I'm a part time Yank(dual Amer/Can citizenship) with blood kin in Ashland, Maine.

I go back and spend time in the Maine woods huntin + fishin at least once a year.

Aroostook County in the fall is the place to be.

Welcome compadre.

Start a state? I think my location info says it all. In my opinion, we have to work both sides of the border to maintain firearms and self-defense rights.

You're preaching to the choir.

Ryerson professor Cukier seems to be petrified by the idea of a Canadian NRA.

If Cukier is petrified by that idea then it must be a good thing for Canadian shooters.

How the heck do we get a Canadian equivalent (in purpose, scope and effectiveness) of the NRA started up here? Call it whatever you want, the Canadian Firearms Alliance, the Canadian Freedom League, whatever. It's the practical application of the concepts of becoming formally united under an organizational banner and becoming politically active that will win the fight for us up here in Canada like it is being won in the land of the Second Amendment.

It took a lot of diligent pounding for several years to get shall issue statutes passed in Wisconsin and Illinois will probably crack soon.

Let's get organized and shut our eyes and pretend Ontario and Quebec are Wisconsin and Illinois.

We've got a ready made communications hub right here in this CGN forum that united and excited enough shooters to get the Conservatives a majority government. If you don't think so ask ex-mp Mark Holland or Iggy Whatshisname.

What I am asking advice on is essentially, HOW DO YOU TRANSPLANT SUCCESS?

Sorry for the slight derail.

Again, a hearty welcome to our new friend from the USA.

Hello and welcome. I was born in Toronto, but grew up and lived in the States until 2006 when I moved here. Lived in five states over the years (I'm old). Liked eastern Oregon and Idaho best. Lived in Massachusetts twice, from the time it was a "shall issue" state to when it was just on the verge of practically prohibiting ownership unless you could prove need. Times change. Enjoy the site.

Welcome aboard! What state are you from if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks! I'm from New Jersey, which has it's own problems with gun laws. We can own some cool stuff though. I'm not sure what you guys can and can't have compared to the US.
