Any knowledgeble HK fanatics out there that would know about these mounts, I have the earlier style with the built in rings that mounts on my 91 very easily, never a problem still new always fits.
I recently picked up a new Hensoldt Fero ZF -4 with scope bolted to the HK mount. The mount appears new no warping or distortion it will not fit the receiver at all, and I do not want to compress the locking lever to much as it may damage the receiver or possibly snap off the lever as even tapping with a rubber mallet will not close and positivley lock the roller catch into the release arm recess.
Any suggestions, or were these individually fitted at depot level by armourers, anyone else have this problem? Is there a difference between the military HK mount without the rings? I know ther commercial ones always fit, is there a difference between HK 91 and G3 upper receiver profiles? I hate like hell to start fitting and filing an expensive HK mount, as they are pricey to replace. Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks g2.
