Over the long weekend I set up my new gong stand. The set up is 550 yards from the shooting line. The largest target is 25.5" the middle is around 10" and the smallest is around 7". There all around 1.5" thick mild steel. You can see the old gong hanging in the tree in the backround, it is made from 1/4" checkerplate and is starting to look like swiss cheese.

This view is looking back towards the fireing line. We shoot off the ground right in front of our camp which you can see up the hill.
This picture shows the target fraim a little better, it breaks down and sets up with out tools or fasteners. I used 3/8 wire rope so a hit should not cut it. The only thing that will bring down a gong is a direct hit on a cable clip.

.
Here is a close up of a hit by a 142 gr Sierra Match King leaving the barrel at 2950 fps. Only a .5mm dent at most.

This is a shot from the camp looking towards the gongs. The gongs are right between the tips of the 2 spruce trees but you cant see them in the pic. If you look to the far left of what you can see of the pond there is a beaver dam at 890 yards that we only shoot to in the winter as its hard to get to when its not frozen but I plan to put a similar set up there as well. Thanks for checking out my new set up.
