Hey,
Saw some at Crappy Tire recently. I used to like shooting the old Imperial way back, wondering if the new shotgun shells are any good? Are they actually made in Canada or by someone else?
Matt

Canadian made... by Challenger. They've been around for a few years now. No real connection to the old CIL/IVI Imperial aside from the name, which Challenger bought the rights to.. expecting (probably correctly) to capitalize on Canadian sentimentality... and stupidity, since they're using the old Crappy Tire trick of 20 round boxes instead of the standard 25 rounds/box. But to answer the question - they seem to be decent shells! I haven't had any issues with the ones I've used

They’re decent Shells and they pattern pretty good I use the lead shot loads for turkey. But again they’re the “crappy tire” brand now and in a 20rd box idk why they ever did that but they always did.

They don’t really smell like imperial’s though.

Thanks for the comments. Yes Danny, they will never had that old smell, man I remember that. I did not know Challenger took the name and made them. Did not look close enough to seethe 20 round per box trick. May pick up a box or two, thanks for the comments.

I saw some in a Crappy Tire a long time ago . newer boxes . I'll never forget a guy I was buying a shotgun off many years ago . we were discussing Imperial shells and this was back in the 1970ties and he told me that Imperial had overloaded a ton of shotgun shells and they were sitting in either a tractor trailer or in several trailers . I wonder what happened to all those shells . back in the day they made nice hot shells . high brass etc. Canadian made . something to be proud of back in those days .
