just bought a new leup vxll 3-9x40 LR. The power band seems very stiff to rotate , is this normal in a new leupold?

Yes this is fairly common with VX I and VX II. Turn the ring back and forth several times to move the lubrication around. It should get easier in time. Leupold uses a double "O" ring and the result is there is a lot of surface contact with the rubber. If you feel it has not got any better over time, send it ti Korth Group in Okotoks Ab. and they will solve your problem. Phil.
