New Leupold vx-3i for rem LVSF in 22-250

I'm got my mind set on buying a new Leupold vx-31 scope for my Remington LVSF in 22-250. just can't decide on the vx-3i 3.5x10x40 cds or the 4.5x14x40 cds. it's going to be used as a coyote rifle and spend time on the range . wondering if the 4.5 will not give me enough FOV for close in shots at coyotes? even though the 14x would be nice on the range. just took a bushnell banner 4x12x40 AO off the lvsf and replaced it for now with a 3x9x40 VX2 off another rifle , the leupold vx2 on 9 power is clearer and i could see .224 bullet holes in target @100 yds , i couldn't see them with the bushnell on 12 power. so im guessing the 3.5x10 should be even clearer than the vx2 on 9 power. don't want to go with more scope than i need.

Personally I'd go the 4.5x14 route. I use a 4-16 Vortex and I shot a coyote at 20 yards and 200+ yards the same day no issues. I used a 4-12x40 in the past and I'm really liking the 16x power now for 300+ yards.
