just finished mounting up a scope and loading for my "new to me" 700 Titanium in 7-08
Had Cam install BDL bottom metal and rebed the thing....he squirted some new paint on it too...
as I expected, it gained ZERO ounces with the addition of the bottom metal ; the loss of the steel escutcheon from the front screw, the loss of the center screw and the mag box being shallower offsets the weight of the bottom metal itself..it came in at 6lbs 6 ounces on my trigger pull scale...with a 2.5-8X Leupy in Dual Dovetails....future plans include swapping the bolt plug for an aluminium version that I have half built thereby losing the J-Lock in the process...this and a set of Talley lightweight rings should lose two or three ounces....

my search for a "lightweight" has ended, thus the selling of my Model Sevens....
