.. no idea on beam divergence but a couple of very interesting units.
 
I hope that they work a lot better than the older units, I found that they would not reflect off of a lot of objects, or were sporadic.
If the bugs are ironed out I'd be interested in picking one up for the 4000 yard range.
 
Interesting, the 4k appears to have a couple of different targeting modes. I like the stabilization concept for handheld use, and they don't suffer much of a weight penalty which leads me to believe it is not electronic stabilization that is employed. Thanks for the tip, look forward to checking out the device when it come available.
 
Just got the Monarch 3000 stabilized range finder. The 3000 / 4000 is pure advertising scam, for my hunting purposes, 1 mil is the limit and the Monarch 3000 fits the bill nicely. Stabilization is nice, but they should really also include ballistics computer either with preloaded profiles or user customize-able to immediately tell you the MOA or mil adjustments needed based on the distance.

The advertised range is for highly reflective targets like steel. Not on a furry animal.
