What Alberta says is very true. Just recently we are seeing more of our work stay in Canada due to the problems with getting parts out of the US. I have said it many times before that Canadians do seem to have an inferiority complex towards things Canadian. The world loves our stocks but to Canadians we are nobodies. Canadians don't know of us but some guy in Russia knows all about us!
There may be an inferiority complex, but there sure as heck isn't anything inferior about the products.
Here's my precision rifle, built on one of Ian's stocks. (

I went with his "H&H" stock. Their web site description says, "Designed by Tony Halberg and John Hastie of New Zealand. Similar to the Original design but with a parallel forend and slightly smaller grip. Used by the NZ Palma team with the Millennium action. Designed to fit the wide body actions. Butt profiled to accept Anschutz accessories. Separate cheek piece. By far our most popular prone stock, also used by the USAMU."
It has a Rob MacLennan barrel (also Canadian made). It starts of at 1.25" diameter

for the first 3.5", tapers quickly to 1.1", and then gradually tapers over the rest of the length to 1" diameter at the muzzle. As you can imagine, it's a pretty hefty barrel. It sure is a beautiful piece of work.
With my cheek against the cheek piece, I can actually hear that big heavy barrel *ring* like a tuning fork after each shot. Lasts for a fair while, too. It's so cool.
Don't be afraid to buy Canadian! There's some fabulous stuff out there that's as good as, or better than, anything we could import.
