Hey guys,

Just picked up a new M305 yesterday, just wondering if any of you m14 gurus could tell me if this is an issue... I'm new to the m14 platform, have no idea whether something like this is purely a cosmetic issue or could impact function.

The bolt roller rail on the right side of the receiver has a gouge in it, if I cycle the bolt slowly I can feel it catch very slightly at that point. Is this something to be concerned about, or a non issue?

Thanks!

I wouldn't be concerned about it. If it really bothers you, you could round the corners of the gauge a tiny bit with a file to smooth it out a bit... but that should happen with use anyway.

BTW, where'd you get the left handed m14 :) ?

Ahah I used my computer camera and somehow it got flipped. Thanks for the advice, I figured it was probably not a big deal, just didn't know if that sort of thing could affect accuracy/reliability.

I had a nice gouge like that too. Took a jeweller's file to it, washed of all the filings and put a lil extra lube on it. Hasn't gotten any worse and action feels smoother.
