Have you guys seen the new Marlin 1895 that came out the 1895GSBL I have been interested in getting a 45-70 for awhile and this one looks like it might be pretty sweet

I didn't see anyone in Canada that has them but I talked to Wolverine they said they could get them take a few months and be around $1400

This one is stainless also, but with the trynite black finish. The stock is a painted laminate

I have a 1895 Guide Gun in stainless and love the thing, great fun for plinking, and will put down any north american wildlife no problem.

I had a Marlin 1895GS. Great gun with one exception for my taste. The straight stock design. With the hotter loads the rifle is capable of handling and especially along with the heavier bullets, I found it a little hard on the fingers at times. I gave it to my young son in the B.C. central interior and he loves it.

I ended up replacing it with a 1895GBL and find it fits the bill much more to my liking.

And,;) to keep it company and for something a little different to 'play with', I picked up a BFR by Magnum Research, also in 45-70
